“How in the world were they making that sound,” asked troubadour Jonathan Richman in his loving ode to the Velvet Underground – and in the case of ‘White Light/White Heat’ it is the sound of pure-white-pulsing-electricity turned all the way up, leaving you with a smile on your face as your brain turns to liquid. This is the Velvet Underground at their most raw – controversial, confrontational, and luridly ecstatic - culminating in the 17-minute freak out 'Sister Ray' (which just so happens to be my cat’s favorite song.)

The Music CD was okay – but not one of my favorites
